With more than 30 years of experience in portfolio management, Vital brings an in-depth perspective to the financial markets and a strong entrepreneurial vision. He previously led the asset management firm Hexavest, which he co-founded in 2004, and is well known to institutional investors worldwide. In recent years, he has been actively involved in sustainable finance. In partnership with Fondaction, he co-created a private investment fund that provides capital to companies fighting against climate change. As chief investment officer and manager, he led a number of investment teams that managed several billion dollars of assets for pension plans, foundations and other institutional investors. Before co-founding Hexavest, Vital was Senior Vice President, International Equities, at Natcan Investment Management. He began his career in 1989 at Les Conseillers financiers du St-Laurent, where he launched the U.S. and international equity strategies and developed his unique top-down approach. Vital holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Université Laval and is a CFA charterholder.
